Front Lines: Scope's Shack
From Short Stories Wiki
[edit] Prelude: The Birth of a Crack Shot
Andrew Beckett (or Scope, as he is known in Operation Front Lines) had the supremacy of being dumped in an orphanage at the age of one and a half. He grew up with the other orphans, and developed a mischevious attitude. His hobbies included pickpocketing the unsuspecting nuns and vandalising the local neighbourhood. Andrew had very sharp eyes - he could easily complete 'spot the difference' puzzles in seconds flat while it took most other kids up to five minutes. Andrew had a light frame and, consequently, was a very fast sprinter. Most of the kids disliked Andrew, but he didn't give a damn. If anyone had any issues with him, they'd wake up to find all their treasured items gone. His curiosity and taste for trouble eventually led him to stealing a motorbike, which he crashed into a river. Andrew escaped unharmed, and after drying off, was able to return to the orphanage without being caught. He had learned something from this incident though - stealing motor vehicles was really fun! As soon as he turned 18 and became of age, Andrew moved into an apartment and transformed his illegal hobby into his main money maker - he became a burgular.
[edit] Chapter One: Professional Thief
Scope sat up briskly and realized it was 8:30 A.M he was half an-hour late for his next theft spree."@h#$!" exclaimed scope as he practically fell out of his top bunk in his prison cell. What? Bunk? Prison cell? Scope decided he wanted to be like the people from Alcatraz, he waited for the guard to pass. He than ripped out the toilet and started climbing the maintenance ladder. Scope now felt alive, the rush of adrenaline kept him going to the top of the ladder. It was then that he realized that he WAS at Alcatraz and that he had to make a raft out of jackets BUT, there was one problem with that. He didn't have any jackets and he didn't have any oars. He would have to use the old Andrew Beckett way of doing things, first he assaulted two guards and rendered them unconscious. He then took one guards silenced pistol and shot them both. Scope stringed the bodies together by tearing off the elastic from his Bonds underwear and put them on the water, he then used their bodies as a raft to sail home to San Francisco. Andrew Beckett was a very, very clever man.
